Another major project that was accomplished successfully involved 3 institutions and was supported by the Ministry of Culture of Albania. The main aspect of this project was the digitalization of the parks. In order to achieve this, a series of tasks had to be undertaken. Almost every aspect of the parks had to be photographed, catalogized and saved in a database. That database would serve as a server bucket from which one could access all this data and this is especially useful if you want to build an application and simultaneously serve the same data to a website.

Perhaps the most challenging part was “The Roads Of Religious”, an aspect of the project which demonstrates the places of cult in which the ancients civilizations used to travel and live. Some 1500km had to be traveled around Albania in order to be photographed and catalogized. Those places involved churches, monasteries and abandoned places, some on top of hills. There is something unique and profound visiting these places even if you are not a religious person.

Another difficult task to achieve was the 360° virtual tour which involved aerial and land photography of the two parks. All those assets then had to be stitched, edited and published on Google Street View (see virtual tour at the bottom of this page).
Special thanks for their enormous help goes to the Executive Director of Archaeological Park of Apollonia and Byllis Mrs. Ornela Durmishaj, a tireless person which always seeks the very best result out of any work and also Mr. Arjan Dimo and Mr. Admir Xhelaj for their support.
