This volunteer initiative, launched in December 2021, is dedicated to the rehabilitation of burned and deforested areas across Albania. Volunteers primarily from Tirana have joined the effort, contributing to what is undeniably one of the most critical environmental causes of our time. Despite the narrow seasonal window available for tree planting each year, the group has achieved notable results. By January 2023, more than 1,300 trees had been planted, with additional activities and interventions planned.

The project’s primary focus is Dajti National Park, located near Tirana, an area that has suffered extensive deforestation and damage caused by illegal activities. By the spring of 2023, approximately 1,200 trees were scheduled to be planted within the park. While modest in scale, this contribution remains meaningful and impactful for the local ecosystem. On January 29, more than 100 volunteers gathered with a shared objective: the planting of 1,000 trees in a single coordinated action.

Volunteers representing over four organizations, as well as several informal groups, participated in the initiative, making it one of the largest tree-planting events held in the area. Beyond reforestation, such efforts contribute to reducing soil erosion, improving air quality, and restoring natural habitats for wildlife. The initiative stands as a clear demonstration of how collective, well-coordinated action can produce tangible environmental impact.
